I was there for a 14 day Panchakarma Detox.
PROS:
- Salesh (retreat manager) picked me up personally from the airport as I opted for airport transfer as I was getting in at midnight and a solo traveler. Mathew also texted me advising him that he would be there with a sign. I felt very safe from the very beginning.
- amazing staff, thank you to everyone (Salesh, Reji, Akshara, Sree Lakshmi and Jishnu) that looked after me, it felt like a family and was so sad to leave.
- the yoga was authentic, for all levels and incorporated breathing techniques and meditation as well.
- the food was simple, although so much of it (feel free to reduce the portions guys haha)
- the team helped organise day events, we went on bird watching into the jungle, a quick trip to the closest town and also to the plantations.
- whilst my first ayurdvedic treatment experience, chatting to others that were there confirmed they were authentic.
- I had a headache after the bird watching as I have chronic neck issues, and Salesh provided me with ayurdvedic treatments. he also made sure I knew he was only a call away at any time.
- i didn't lose weight in my two weeks, however was very relaxed and became more flexible during the daily yoga.
- stunning location.
- they make their soaps and shampoo on site.
CONS:
- i did get bitten by mosquitoes often.
- not a strict hardcore detox centre, while they will stick to a routine, they are quite flexible. it would be best to advise them of how strict you want to be from the beginning.
- the doctor was not in house and only came every few days. we were allowed to call him if needed though. he didn't advise me of my dosha, i had to ask specific questions to get answers.
Would definitely go back!
